1. What is the Tanzania Meteorological Authority (TMA) and what are its core functions?

• Tanzania Meteorological Authority is a government institution under the ministry of Transport. The Authority has been established by the TMA Act. No. 2 of 2019 with the role of provision of meteorological services in the United Republic of Tanzania, Coordinate and Regulate meteorological activities in the country.
• The Authority has also been designated as ‘Exclusive Powers’ to issue Weather warnings in the bounderies of the United Republic of Tanzania.
